Wet, cold weekend ahead; widespread frost in south
Two weather systems are ganging up on eastern Australia which could lead to severe weather into and across the weekend.
Up to 100mm of rain could fall on the New South Wales/Queensland border, as much as 80mm on Sydney and 60mm on Brisbane.
The downpours could come despite the threat of an east coast low now receding.
Where it doesn’t rain in the east, it’ll be cold with the mercury sinking and frost over large areas of Victoria and Tasmania, including potentially in Melbourne.
