Ampol targets batteries, hydrogen in green push – The Australian Financial Review
The petrol and diesel supplier is making a move into electricity generation as part of its strategy to tap into new areas such as hydrogen and batteries.
Chief executive Matt Halliday said while Ampol expects petrol and diesel to be needed for years to come, the strategy reflects the changing needs of customers as they seek out lower-carbon alternatives.
He said Ampols supply chain and assets, including both its Lytton site and its Kurnell former refining site in Sydney, were in a unique position to play a role in the shift to cleaner energy.
