High mineral prices could delay the global transition to clean energy as the demand for metals in solar panels, wind turbines and batteries outstrips supply, the International Energy Agency has warned.
A lack of investment in new mines risks substantially increasing the cost of producing clean energy technologies and hampering the effort to meet the worlds climate goals, the IEA says in its new report The Role of Critical Minerals in Clean Energy Transitions.
