Algae-based material ‘could revolutionise fashion’
DELFT – Scientists have used 3D printers and a novel bioprinting technique to develop a sustainable material made from algae which they say could produce sustainable clothing for the fashion industry.
The researchers say the material is eco-friendly, biodegradable, and simple and scalable to produce – as well as being tough and resilient enough for other applications such as space exploration.
