Chinese navy joins Indonesian submarine salvage operation in strategic waters to Australia’s north
Beijing has dispatched naval ships to the strategically important Lombok Strait, north of Australia, to help with the salvage operation for an Indonesian submarine which sank last month, killing all 53 crew on board.

- The Chinese Defence Ministry confirmed it would join the international salvage effort late last week after expressing its “deep condolences” for the victims
