New powers to punish boaties behaving badly

Transport Minister Mark Bailey has revealed the idea is being considered by Maritime Safety Queensland in a bid to target “repeat offenders” on the water.The government is also looking at making young boaties get a youth licence before allowing them to operate a vessel as part of a possible maritime safety shake up.It follows recommendations made by the government’s War on Wrecks task force for a review of the maritime licencing requirements in Queensland.MSQ general manager Angus Mitchell said…
