Queensland’s domestic violence taskforce head wants to hear women’s stories of reporting abuse
The head of a Queensland domestic violence and justice taskforce says women’s experiences reporting abuse to police will be looked at as part of the wide-ranging review, more than a week after the horrific deaths of Kelly Wilkinson and Lordy Ramadan.

- The Women’s Safety and Justice Taskforce is looking at domestic and sexual violence victims’ experiences in Queensland’s criminal justice system
- The taskforce is due to report back on how best to legislate coercive control as an offence by October
- Submissions will be kept confidential unless permission is given by the submitter
Ms Wilkinson was allegedly set alight by her former partner Brian Earl Johnston, 34, at her Arundel home on the Gold Coast last Tuesday morning.
