ASX set for seventh month of straight gains

Australian shares hit a new 100-day high on Thursday, with energy and tech stocks leading the charge. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index added 17.6 points, or 0.25 per cent, to end the session at 7082.3, while the All Ordinaries index rose 26 points to 7346.
The Australian dollar was fetching 77.94 US cents and gold was trading at $US1780.2 an ounce.
