Its understood national cabinet was due to discuss COVID-19 jabs for the Olympic delegation last Thursday but the discussion was delayed as the federal and state governments grappled with the broader question about the roll out, including how to reset and speed it up.
The rescheduled Games are due to begin on July 23 and Japan recently announced new restrictions from April 25-May 11 in Tokyo, Osaka and two other prefectures to try and halt a damaging fourth wave of COVID.
