Queensland Labor MP Duncan Pegg to retire from politics to focus on cancer battle
Queensland Labor MP Duncan Pegg has announced he will retire from politics in the coming weeks to focus on his health after revealing his battle with cancer in 2019.

The 40-year-old’s resignation will trigger a by-election in the southern Brisbane seat of Stretton, which Labor holds by a safe margin of 14.8 per cent.
In an emotional speech to Queensland Parliament, Mr Pegg said it was with a heavy heart he had to step away as an MP.
