South Australia’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout the slowest in Australia, according to federal data

The latest data from the federal government shows South Australia’s rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine is the slowest in the nation, with the state administering just 57 per cent of the vaccines it has been allocated.
Key points:
- SA has administered 37,656 out of 79,990 available vaccine doses
- The state government says the Commonwealth has over-supplied SA
- SA’s AMA President says the state’s vaccine rollout “not as bad” as data suggested
To date, 1.1 million vaccine doses have been given to Australians, with 37,656 of those delivered in SA as of April 12.
That is despite South Australia receiving 79,990 doses.
According to the data, Tasmania and the ACT have administered 100 per cent of their administered doses to date.
