McLaren team principal Andrea Seidl reveals why McLaren signed Daniel Ricciardo
McLaren team principal Andreas Seidl has revealed the reason the rising team moved immediately to snatch up Aussie F1 star Daniel Ricciardo in last years game of musical chairs that saw a flurry of drivers moving teams. The UK-based team were blindsided when star driver Carlos Sainz was poached by Ferrari in May when the team had been negotiating a contract extension.
The team then moved quickly to lock down Ricciardo on a three-year contract, announced in the same week as Sainz’s move to Ferrari.
