A new coronavirus wave in Chile could be proof that a quick vaccine rollout alone does not necessarily guard against future surges of the deadly bug, Chris Whitty has warned.
More than 31.5 million people across the UK have now been given at least one jab leading many people to demand a more rapid return to normality.
But in Chile, which has implemented one of the worlds fastest vaccine programmes, new restrictions have just been imposed and borders closed amid spiraling infection rates.
