Legalise Cannabis wins second Upper House seat in WA election as preference harvesting bears fruit
The Legalise Cannabis WA Party has secured a second seat in the Legislative Council, with candidate Brian Walker winning the sixth seat in the East Metropolitan Region.
Key points:
- Labor has won 22 seats in WA’s Upper House
- Legalise Cannabis has two seats and the Daylight Saving Party has one
- But the Greens have been reduced from four seats to one
Last week Legalise Cannabis WA’s Sophia Moermond secured a seat in the South West region from 2 per cent of votes, while the Daylight Saving Party’s Wilson Tucker was elected in the Mining and Pastoral Region with just 98 primary votes.
