Hospital chaplains, church ministers share challenges, comfort of Easter during COVID-19

For Reverend Jenny Potter, Easter is a time to reflect during the most holy week of her faith, but also on the little things that have made the biggest impacts for her as a hospital chaplain during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Key points:
- Hospital chaplains have found it a challenge to provide comfort during COVID-19 restrictions
- Churches have changed services to adapt to health guidelines this Easter
- Some churches have adopted innovative solutions to share communion
“The reflection I have at Easter is that Jesus touched people — what does it mean when we can’t?” she said.
“As a chaplain I’m not allowed anywhere near a COVID room, we don’t go into wards that have airborne contamination.
