People in outback Queensland are being vaccinated at a much faster rate than city dwellers, despite people in metropolitan areas being at much higher risk of catching COVID-19.While less than 2 per cent of the entire Queensland population has received the jab, 25 per cent of eligible adults in the Central West Hospital and Health Service — which encompasses 33 per cent of the Sunshine State’s landmass and includes Longreach, Birdsville and Winton — has been vaccinated.
