South Coast Highway mural unveiled on nickel mine overpass in regional WA

A massive 100-metre-long mural has been installed across one of West Australia’s busiest regional highways, adding “bold” colour to an otherwise bland piece of mining equipment.

When Ravensthorpe Nickel Operations (RNO), owned by First Quantum Minerals (FQM), wanted to expand the life of its mine, it knew that logistics would be key. 

The project on WA’s south-east coast, about 600 kilometres east of Perth, has had a chequered past.
