Man charged with rape of teenage girl on Macleay Island
A 20-year-old man has been charged with rape after allegedly choking a teenage girl until she lost consciousness and assaulted her on Queensland’s Macleay Island.
Police have alleged the man stalked the girl after she exited a bus near Hamilton Parade just before 4:30pm on Wednesday on the island, located just off the state’s southeast coast.
As she approached an intersection, the stranger allegedly attacked and put his arm around her neck, police said.
