Victorian government set to announce resumption of international flights, hotel quarantine
The Victorian government will today announce plans to resume international flights into Melbourne for returning Australians.
Flights were halted in mid-February after an outbreak of the UK variant of coronavirus leaked out of a Holiday Inn quarantine hotel.
The government will this morning reveal the timeline for accepting its share of quarantining travellers, which the ABC understands could begin as early as next week.
Victoria was due to accept 1,310 international arrivals a week from mid-February.
New South Wales is currently taking almost half of Australia’s arrivals, at 3,010 people a week.
The government will also reveal some of the details of a review into the quarantine breaches that forced the state’s third lockdown.
