Consent education to become mandatory in Victorian state schools

The Victorian government will make consent education mandatory in public schools, describing it as an “important step” students have been calling for.

Respectful relationships education is already a core part of Victoria’s curriculum, and earlier this year the state government announced it would become mandatory in all state schools.

But students will soon be taught specific classes about consent.
