Spent convictions scheme passes Victoria’s upper house
In February last year, Naomi Murphy was preparing to fly to Hawaii to watch her young daughter compete in an international netball tournament.
Key points:
- Victoria becomes the last state in Australia to introduce a spent convictions scheme
- It will see minor criminal offences removed from police checks after 10 years
- The legislation will take effect from December 1
