Deputy mayor’s warning for Boggo Rd opponents
Brisbane’s deputy mayor has warned opponents of a controversial development now approved on the site of a heritage-listed former city prison to “be careful what you wish for” with any planned appeal of the recent council decision.
Committee chair Krista Adams told the city planning and economic development meeting on Tuesday that the state priority development area declared for the Boggo Road Cross River Rail site in October meant any subsequent plans would not come before the council.
Developer Stockwell first lodged the plans in 2019, just months before a Priority Development Area spanning much of the area surrounding the proposed major transport hub was declared in October last year.Credit:Stockwell
