Former Australian captain Sharelle McMahon and national coach Lisa Alexander are two names of netball luminaries officials believe deserve a statue in the Melbourne sporting precinct to represent the games contribution to Australian sport. Netball Victoria has delivered a proposal to the state government requesting funding to immortalise one great of the sport in bronze at the newly named John Cain Arena.
