Latest ABS figures reveal slump in new housing, but HomeBuilder still supporting sector

New housing approvals have slumped from last years highs but remain well above pre-coronavirus levels due to the uptake of HomeBuilder grants. Latest building approval figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics for the month of January reveal a 19.4 per cent fall in new homes approved for construction compared with the previous month.
