European officials seize 23 tonnes of cocaine at German and Belgian ports, arrest one suspect
European customs officials and police have seized more than 23 tonnes of cocaine contained in shipments to Germany and Belgium in then continent’s largest-ever cocaine bust.

- A 28-year-old man in the Dutch town of Vlaardingen has been arrested
German customs officials on Wednesday revealed they had seized more than 16 tonnes of cocaine in containers that arrived in Hamburg from Paraguay while another 7.2 tonnes were seized in Belgium .
The Hamburg customs office described the find in the German port as the biggest quantity of cocaine ever seized in Europe and one of the biggest single seizures worldwide.
