Australian sharemarket retreats, with losses across all major sectors

The Australian sharemarket fell substantially on Wednesday, with all major sectors losing ground, while global artificial intelligence and data analytics leader Appen was hammered for its half-year results.The S&P/ASX200 closed 0.9 per cent lower at 6777.8 while the All Ordinaries Index dipped 0.86 per cent to 7049.4.
