Man arrested for allegedly duping migrants out of $800k in Qld visa scam
Police allege Mr Raskovic was the director of both companies at the time and offered to find the visa holders sponsored jobs as a pathway to permanent residency, charging them between $25,000 and $45,000 each for services he didn’t deliver. The total value of the alleged fraud has been calculated at $799,000.
Detective Acting Inspector Adam Bennett said investigators found the jobs offered “did not exist as advertised, if at all”. Mr Raskovic was alleged to have falsified documents and operated out of a “professional” office to legitimise his activities.
“As the outcome to this complex investigation highlights, Queensland Police takes this offending seriously, and we will hold those to account who breach positions of trust,”…
