Kevin Rudd sprays News Corp at media diversity senate hearing

Kevin Rudd has told a senate inquiry he was fearful of retribution from News Corp as Prime Minister, claiming the company has too much of a monopoly on media in Australia.
Speaking at a senate committee on Friday, Mr Rudd outlined his call for a royal commission into media diversity in Australia.
“The truth is, as prime minister, I was too fearful of the Murdoch media beast. That’s just the truth of it. I could pretend that I wasn’t, but I was,” he said.
