White House cites ‘deep concerns’ about WHO coronavirus report, demands early data from China
The White House has called on China to make data from the earliest days of the coronavirus outbreak available, saying it has “deep concerns” about the way the findings of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) COVID-19 report have been communicated.
Key points:
- The WHO’s report should be free of “alteration by the Chinese Government”, the US said
- China said the US should not be pointing fingers at countries which supported the WHO during the pandemic
- China refused to give raw data on early COVID-19 cases to investigators, according to an Australian member of the team
