Victorian authorities are investigating how a coronavirus cluster started in a Melbourne quarantine hotel, but believe it could have been caused by mist from a nebuliser.

Here’s how they think it happened.

What is the Holiday Inn outbreak?

The Department of Health says eight cases are now connected to the Holiday Inn quarantine hotel at Melbourne Airport after two more people tested positive today.

COVID-19 Quarantine Victoria (QCV) confirmed this morning that the hotel would be be closed until further notice.

The cluster is believed to have started in a family of three who were in quarantine and are believed to have been infected overseas.
