Bus driver splashed with substance suffers no permanent damage to face

Rail, Tram, and Bus Union assistant state secretary Tom Brown described the incident as “an unprovoked assault” and a “horrifying incident”.

“The poor driver was sitting there, he had done his work and was heading back to the depot,” he said.

“The driver, I understand, is out of hospital, no permanent damage done at the moment – well, physical damage that is.”

Clarks Logan City Bus Service general manager Martin Hall said on Monday the driver was in “good spirits”.

“We are absolutely shocked and disgusted that someone could treat a member of the frontline services like this.”
