NT hotspot declaration for WA affects 2,000 people already in the Territory
About 2,000 people in the Northern Territory who have been in Western Australia in the past seven days have been asked to self-isolate until they return a negative coronavirus test.
Key points:
The direction to self-isolate comes after the NT Government declared Perth, the Peel Region and the South West of Western Australia as coronavirus hotspots on Sunday evening.
The announcement followed a confirmation from WA health authorities that a Perth hotel quarantine security guard had contracted the virus.
The positive case has subsequently triggered a five-day lockdown in Perth, Peel and the South West.
