Police want overhaul of youth justice laws
Queensland Police have pointed the finger at the court system for letting repeat juvenile offenders out on bail, and joined a chorus of angry voices demanding change.
It follows a 17-year-old male being charged with murder after an horrific car crash in Brisbane that killed Kate Leadbetter, 31, and Matty Field, 37, and their unborn child.
The couple was walking their dogs in Alexandra Hills on Australia Day when they were allegedly hit by the youth while he was high on drugs and driving a stolen four-wheel-drive.
