The wild weather that battered south east Australia has subsided, but the majority of the east coast is expected to remain wet over the weekend.
The Bureau of Meteorology has revealed north eastern parts of Victoria received a month’s worth of rain in the past 24 hours, with areas around Mt Buffalo recording up to 130mm.
Melbourne received an average of 43mm and a minor flood warning is in place for the Yarra River.
The BOM said the rain is moving into eastern New South Wales, but the falls there will not be as intense.
