Road Safety F1rst – especially around our local schools

Police were out and about for back-to-school travellers on Wednesday, January 27, patrolling 40km/h school zones.

Buderim Mountain State School had a visit from the local police and Department of Transport and Main Roads to remind children and parents to put Road Safety F1rst.

Children can be impulsive, unpredictable and inexperienced, which is why police are asking motorists to exercise caution in the vicinity of a school.

Speeding through school zones greatly increases the risk to pedestrians as the faster a vehicle is travelling, the longer it takes to stop and the greater the severity of impact.
