COVID-19 detected in Queensland wastewater

Residents in southeast Queensland are being urged to get tested if they have COVID-19 symptoms after fragments of the virus were found in wastewater testing.
The positive detections were found at the Coombabah, Capalaba and Sandgate wastewater plants.
The samples were collected earlier this week.
However, chief health officer Dr Jeannette Young said it did necessarily not mean COVID-19 was circulating within the community.
“We are treating this detection with absolute caution,” she said.
