NT Police fine five people for breaching self-quarantine in December

Five people have been fined more than $5,000 each after breaching self-quarantine in the NT in December last year, sparking a stern warning from NT Police.

- It comes after parts of Sydney were declared a hotspot in mid December during the Northern Beaches cluster
- The five had arrived in the Territory before the declaration but could have been exposed to the virus
- NT Police said anyone who broke quarantine rules put lives at risk
The five were in the Territory prior to the Sydney and Northern Beaches hotspot declaration, but were asked to self-quarantine and get tested for COVID because they had entered the NT after December 18.
