National regulator imposes sanctions at Regis Nedlands over ‘immediate and severe’ risk to residents
Sanctions have been imposed on an aged care facility in Nedlands, in Perth’s western suburbs, following a surprise visit by the federal regulator prompted by allegations of abuse towards residents.
The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission found there was an immediate and severe risk to the health, safety or wellbeing of residents following a surprise visit to Regis Nedlands on January 20.
The Commission said concerns were identified about the cumulative effect of deficiencies in areas including pain management, wound care, falls, challenging behaviours and allegations of sexual assaults and rough handling.
Residents and families were notified of the sanctions today.
