More COVID-19 viral fragments found in Queensland wastewater

There’s been positive test results for traces of COVID-19 at three sewage treatment sites in Townsville, Nambour and Rockhampton.
The routine tests were collected on the 12th, 18th and 19th of January.
In a statement Queensland’s Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young said the positive results weren’t cause for alarm, but those three communities in particular should be on alert for any sign of respiratory illness, and to get tested.
Dr Young said the positive results could simply mean a no longer infectious person was shedding the virus, something that can happens for several weeks, and even months.
