NT authorities tighten COVID quarantine protocols for international air crews, new face mask rules loom

International air crew leaving the Northern Territory will be required to complete 14 days of quarantine and return a negative coronavirus test before being allowed to travel on domestic commercial flights under new directions from the Northern Territory Chief Health Officer.
Key points:
- The new directions mean international air crew can no longer board domestic flights shortly after arriving on repatriation flights
- The stricter rules come after an air crew member tested positive after leaving the NT in December
- Face masks will also become mandatory at Darwin Airport and on all flights from Wednesday
