Man who set girlfriend alight has jail time cut in re-sentencing
On Thursday, Lewis was re-sentenced in the Brisbane District Court to nine-and-a-half years in prison for the charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm as a domestic violence offence.

A parole eligibility date was not declared. Lewis has served 1560 days in pre-sentence custody.
Lewis won the right to a re-trial in September 2019 after launching an appeal against his conviction of a malicious act intended to cause grievous bodily harm.
During the appeal hearing in February 2019, Lewis’ barrister Andrew Hoare called for a retrial on the basis of a miscarriage of justice and argued an eight- to nine-year sentence was more appropriate.
