WA’s coronavirus hard border with Queensland returns as Brisbane prepares for lockdown

Western Australia will reinstate its hard border with Queensland from midnight tonight, WA Premier Mark McGowan has announced.

- Previous outbreaks in other states forced a reimposition of WA’s hard border and quarantine rules
After midnight, only travellers with an exemption will be allowed into WA from Queensland, with Greater Brisbane due to enter lockdown at 6:00pm.
All travellers who arrived in WA from Queensland since January 2 — around 7,500 people — have also been ordered to self-quarantine for 14 days from the date of their arrival.
