Storms, hail warnings, flash flooding in Queensland

Severe thunderstorms are brutally lashing Queensland’s north and the southeast corner with flash flood warnings issued and winds of more than 90km per hour expected to batter some areas.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Kimba Wong said the storms are expected to last well into the night with Cairns and surrounding regions and parts of the Darling Downs and parts of Brisbane copping the brunt of the torrential weather.
