First cyclone of the season expected to form over Gulf on Sunday night

Queensland is likely to see its first cyclone of the season when a tropical low crosses the south-east Gulf Coast on Sunday night.
The system — sitting north-west of Mornington Island — is expected to bring gale-force winds, abnormally high tides and heavy rain to the western Cape York Peninsula and Gulf Country as it approaches the coast.
Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) forecaster Matt Marshall said if a tropical cyclone did form, it will be called Imogen and likely be a category one.
