Man charged in Alice Springs after biting NT Police officer on face
Northern Territory Police say a 39-year-old man has been charged after allegedly biting a police officer on the face during a call-out in Alice Springs on Monday.
The officer was taken to Alice Springs Hospital for treatment, but did not need to be admitted.
Superintendent Brett Prowse described the incident as “violent and disgusting”.
“This type of behaviour never was and never will be acceptable. It is a violent and disgusting act that reflects poorly on the individual,” he said.
Superintendent Prowse said the officer was able to return to work and finish his shift after the incident.
