Health Minister Roger Cook says WA rules for NSW arrivals will remain unchanged but hard border may return

Western Australia will make no changes to its controlled border for arrivals from New South Wales, but WA Health Minister Roger Cook says that “could change at any time”.

Currently, travellers from NSW must self-isolate upon arrival in WA and have a COVID-19 test on day 11 of the 14-day quarantine period, under changes to WA’s border restrictions made on Thursday.

The number of recent arrivals in WA from Sydney’s Northern Beaches — the source of the NSW outbreak — has been revised up to 92, from 87 yesterday.

Of the 92 people, 24 have returned to NSW and 68 are in isolation in WA.

All 68 are undergoing COVID-19 testing, with 26 negative results returned and 42 pending.
