Asylum seekers held under medevac laws moved to a different Melbourne hotel

A group of asylum seekers who were being held in a hotel in Melbourne’s north have been moved under police guard to another hotel in the city.

Lawyers for some of the men say they were given 15 minutes notice to pack up their belongings before being loaded onto a bus this morning.

Dozens of police on foot and on horseback escorted the bus through a crowd of protesters that had gathered outside the Mantra hotel, in Preston.
