Wild weather across south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales erodes beaches and sparks flood warnings

Days of heavy rain and powerful winds in south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales have eroded some of the country’s most famous beaches and sparked flash flooding.

Some parts of the Gold Coast have received almost a metre of rain in the past four days, leaving emergency services to respond to more than 14,000 call-outs.

Flood warnings remain in place in parts of northern NSW where five consecutive days of wild weather has caused thousands of residents to remain on standby for evacuation.
