Driver of truck carrying acid escapes South Eastern Freeway crash with minor injuries
The driver of a prime mover carrying containers of acid has escaped a crash on the South-Eastern Freeway in the Adelaide Hills with minor injuries.
Key points:
- The acid containers were not breached in the crash
- Police say the road is unlikely to be cleared and reopened until the afternoon
- A motorbike rider has life-threatening injuries in a separate crash
Police said the truck left the freeway and crashed into the barrier on the median near the Callington exit overnight.
Emergency crews and police were called to the scene just after 1:00am.
The 52-year-old driver from Victoria was briefly trapped in the cabin.
He was taken to Murray Bridge Hospital with minor injuries.
The containers of acid were not breached in the crash.
