Murray-Darling Basin Plan review highlights progress in water recovery but lays out tough road ahead

A major review of the $13 billion Murray-Darling Basin Plan has highlighted the progress made in recovering water for the environment while addressing some major challenges posed by climate change.

The 2020 basin plan evaluation drew on a number of key reports into the plan’s operation and said while it was working as intended, the coming years represented the most difficult aspects of its implementation and would be compounded by declining inflows.
